The Rossa St. Bridge is open again.
The following message was sent in by a Chamber business
member who had some uninvited guests availing of the disarray following the
flood –
“You might remind members to remain vigilant in respect
thieves, particularly as some business are still dealing with the upheaval
of the flooding. We are not a cash business, but still managed to
have our petty cash box stolen yesterday evening, while I was out back. We are
awaiting new furniture, & are little disorganized at present. Our petty
cash box was out of sight but was still stolen. Apart from some cheque books
& receipts nothing of value was taken; but you might remind business that
the disarray the flood has caused presents thieves with opportunities.”

New ideas.
This is just a heads up for August’s meeting - Clonakilty once had a great name
for festivals but in more recent times, it has fallen by the wayside and is
trading on its name to a certain extent. This is something I want to open up at
this tourism meeting because our Summers are generally void of things to do
with sometimes empty streets on bank holidays. We don’t have to fill the Summer
with fun from start to finish and you don’t have to bring any ideas to this
month’s meeting but I want you to leave with your creative thinking cap on, and
come back with some ideas in August.
Any other
items you want added, please email me at alanlowney@hotmail.com
